Blessings

I am truly blessed.

Since I started telling my family and a very small group of friends about my cancer diagnosis, I’ve been overwhelmed (in a good way) by their positive support and encouragement. I know it’s hard for someone to figure out a way to help someone who is struggling, especially if that person is miles away. But my friends and family have stepped up, big time.

From my three best friends, Debby, Louise and Nadine, who make a point to check in with me via text every morning, to my wonderful cousin Mike and his wife, Nino, who sent me a gorgeous and cheerful bouquet of flowers, to my next door neighbors, the Morellas, who are so good about checking in with mom and me to see how we are doing and if we need anything, to my new quilting friends Lesli and Michele who have reached out to me and are there to drive me to appointments or take me out to lunch.

And then there’s my friend and client, Sandra, who sent me a copy of “Fire and Fury” so we could do a virtual bookclub. She totally gets me!

I have been blessed. But most of all, I’m blessed to be in a place where I have access to great medical care, the ability to pay for it, a safe, comfortable house, and a mom who is an absolute badass nurse. Woe be to the medical professional who doesn’t move fast enough for her!

So today is all about blessings. I hope that all who read this post will find themselves equally blessed today.
