Lucky 13

BakingClass

Finished session #13 of my radiation series today — halfway through. Not experiencing any major side-effects yet, apart from some lower GI issues (I will spare you the details but I’m gaining appreciation for the magical powers of Imodium).

Energy level is good, and I’m getting a lot of “honey-do’s” done that I’ve had to put off for the past six months.

Now if I could only get over that fear of ladders so I could get up into the attic and change the air filter on the AC system…

macaronsMom and I are getting out and about quite a bit now, enjoying the many social and entertainment opportunities that this area offers.

We attended another Greenville Drive game a couple of weeks ago, and took a class at the cooking supply store in Greenville to learn how to bake French Macarons. Mom fell in love with these colorful little pastries when we visited Paris last year, so we HAD to learn how to make them!

And earlier this week, we took another cooking class called, “The Great British Summer Picnic.” Yes, the title was a take-off on “The Great British Baking Show,” and the British chef who led the class was a former pupil of the great Mary Berry. I was happy to hear that she is just as lovely in person as she is on-screen.

We head to Charleston on Saturday for my cousin’s wedding; it will be GREAT to see family again and to celebrate another Rink wedding together.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far. Love and hugs to all.
